I am so proud of myself.  I usually don't toot my own horn but with a little help from AI and Canva, I created this really cool banner for my social media accounts.

Read About:

Home is Where the Heart Is

Our journey through life is filled with trials and tribulations, moments of happiness and seasons of sorrow. Along the way, we work, find enjoyment in the things we love, and develop the values and ideals that shape who we become. In all that we do, our lives touch the hearts of those we love most—our families. Yet, with so many distractions competing for our time and attention, it is easy to lose sight of what matters most. Home Is Where the Heart Is gently reminds us that family is one of life’s greatest blessings and deserves our love, time, and attention. This book speaks to both the mind and the heart, offering inspiration and encouragement to nurture the bonds of love, deepen our relationships, and build stronger, happier families. After all, no matter where life takes us, home is where love begins, hearts are connected, and family will always matter most.

Home Is Where the Learning Is:

I replaced my Homeschool book with a new cover and updated writings for homeschool parents to learn from other parents what it is like to homeschool.

Thoughts from the Heart

Need some uplifting thoughts for a cloudy day?  Check out Thoughts from the Heart

The Gulf Coast of Alabama has had its share of trials and triumphs. As a Gulf Coast Newspaper Columnist, Valerie J. Steimle has seen it all: hurricanes, the BP oil spill, festivals, concerts and beach life. Living on Alabama’s gulf coast has been an interesting life journey. “Thoughts from the Heart” was a column especially written for the gulf coast of Alabama with inspirational stories, small town politics and federal government antics. Read one hundred of the best of “Thoughts from the Heart,” an insightful collection of honest, humorous and heart-felt writing.

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Synagogue: An Unexpected Path to the Sacred Grove

A witty and heartfelt exploration of two worlds, Judaism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mrs. Steimle explores tradition, woven together through one person’s spiritual journey, blending humor, history, and personal reflection. This narrative follows an unexpected pilgrimage from matzah balls to Moroni, and from synagogue pews to the Sacred Grove, showing how two faiths that seem far apart can echo each other in surprising ways.

Of One Heart: Being Single in the LDS World

In the LDS world (or the world of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) most adults are married with children. It has only been in the last 20 years that being single in the church has become much more common. Unfortunately, marriages are failing and there is now one third of the adults at church who are single. Whether by divorce, death of a spouse or never married at all, there are challenges to being single in a predominately married world. Challenges Valerie Steimle had never realized until she became single herself when her husband of 25 years suddenly passed away leaving her with nine children at her charge. A daunting task to say the least. This book was written to help all those who are single, all those who have single friends and all priesthood leaders with single members under their jurisdiction. The book was written to help others understand what it is like to be single and includes writings from other singles on how they feel about being single.

Dogs, Blogs and Hobbits: Writings from a Widow’s Perspective

Becoming a widow at the early age of 46 was not what Valerie J. Steimle expected. She still had five of her nine children at home in her care with aspirations of a fulfilling life with her husband. After burying him, she went to work and wrote every day for three years. This collection of 60 articles is part of that work. Ms. Steimle writes about everything from dating jerks to the power of positive thinking. Her outlook on life is inspiring and she writes about what is really important in life.
